About Rhema
Hello, I am Rhema.
I have four loves of my life: Tomas, my husband; Bogart & Dora, my pooches; and hearing people's fascinating life stories.
My multicultural and multi-faceted identity has been shaped and influenced by my diverse and unique lived experiences from growing up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK), and moving to New Zealand on my own. My unique life experiences inspired me to do a PhD study on women of colour with a similar internationally mobile youth. My study gave voice to women of colour by shedding light on their racist-sexist experiences, and subsequently I created leadership development programmes for minority groups and global leaders.
As an expert in global and minority leadership development, I focus on the importance of doing identity work to become better leaders and strengthen our voices. I am now using my voice to have the challenging and uncomfortable conversations to help our multicultural globalised society better understand our unique experiences as women of colour and minorities.
When I am not embarking on social justice missions, you can find me at the nearest beach with Tomas and a box of beers chasing Bogart & Dora, who have probably left us behind to make new friends of their own!
